Adventures of Johnny Tao

This is a fun and obviously low-budget film that I could have missed. The best part of this movie is its cover, if you know what I mean. It’s not bad, it’s just not good – I think they delivered on what they wanted to do with the budget they could scrape together.

Johnny is your friendly neighborhood gas station operator whose family interaction reminds me of What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. Well, eventually he saves his town from an evil monster from another dimension while managing not to actually do much other than chase candy-crazed zombie bad guys to the local fortune cookie factory.

Classic. It could have a cult following, easy.
