Iron Man

This movie was definitely worth waiting for, and worth the drive to see it in a digital theater. Queue the Black Sabbath song, the movie delivers! I have to be honest, I was a little skeptical of Robert Downey Jr.’s ability to pull this one off, but he definitely does it. A complimentary cast of Gwyenth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges and Terrence Howard pull this movie off with ease. Although I’m familiar with the comic book, seeing the origin of Iron Man was as exciting as the first X-Men movie, which was the film that got this genre of rehashed comic book heroes started. The plot moves along well, developing the characters and setting up the action sequences, which are completely amazing! I watched this movie with my wife, albeit hesitantly, but she enjoyed it, which highlights the film’s broad reach. I think I’ll add this one to my collection, which is saying something. I look forward to the sequel. This film won a Golden Trailer for “Summer Blockbuster” and an MTV Movie Award for “Best Summer Movie So Far”. There is a short sex scene and a fair amount of violence. There is no profanity and the morality is epic, but believable and ultimately good. I give it 5 stars.
