Hancock is a hero movie from a human point of view. I enjoyed watching this movie with my wife, and aside from a bit of crude language from the title character (played by Will Smith) the movie is pretty clean. Also starring is Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman, which is a completely likable cast. I also like this movie because – finally! – it has solid morals. Although there is wanton destruction (what superhero can avoid it?) there is also remorse and restitution, which is great. Wait, I just remembered a scene of remorseless destruction… well, OK, they tried.
The computer graphics are believable, the story fun and the characters genuine, led by yet another great performance by Will Smith. There is also a pretty solid twist in the storyline that really turned the enjoyment factor up. I give it 4 stars because is was good, not great, but good.
